This Policy applies to all users (“You”, “Your”, or “User”), including customers and channel partners, who wish to delete their accounts and associated personal data.
By requesting account deletion, You agree to comply with this Policy, which is an electronic record under the Information Technology Act, 2000, and does not require any digital or electronic signature. If You do not agree with this Policy, You must not proceed with an account deletion request.
Scope of Account Deletion
This Policy covers the deletion of:
- User accounts created on the Website for accessing services like vehicle sales, purchases, or FASTag;
- Channel partner accounts on the ‘Credence Cars Channel Partner’ application;
- Associated personal data, including identity, contact, financial, and vehicle details, subject to legal retention requirements.
Account deletion does not affect data shared with third parties (e.g., dealers, FASTag issuers) or publicly posted content (e.g., reviews), which is governed by the respective third party’s policies or the Privacy Policy.
Deletion Process for Users
To permanently delete Your user account, follow these steps:
- Email support@credencecars.com with the subject “Credence Cars Account Deletion”.
- Include Your registered email address, phone number, and name in the email.
- Credence Cars will verify Your request by sending an OTP to Your registered phone or email.
- Confirm the OTP to authenticate the deletion request.
- Upon verification, Credence Cars will initiate the deletion process, which may take up to 90 days.
If You cannot access Your registered email or phone, email support@credencecars.com from an alternate email with the subject “Account Support: Credence Cars Account Deletion”. Provide proof of identity (e.g., KYC documents) for verification.
Deletion Process for Channel Partners
To permanently delete Your channel partner account on the ‘Credence Cars Channel Partner’ application, follow these steps:
- Log in to the ‘Credence Cars Channel Partner’ app using Your registered mobile number and OTP.
- Tap the Account icon in the bottom navigation bar.
- Tap the Profile icon and select “Manage Profile”.
- Scroll down and tap “Delete Account”.
- Confirm the deletion in the popup by tapping “Delete” (or “Keep Account” to cancel).
- Credence Cars will verify the request and initiate deletion, which may take up to 90 days.
Alternatively, email support@credencecars.com with the subject “Credence Cars Partner Account Deletion”, including Your registered email, phone number, and name. Verification and deletion will follow the user process above.
Data Retention and Deletion Timeline
Credence Cars will retain personal data only as necessary to fulfill the purposes outlined in the Privacy Policy or to comply with legal, regulatory, or contractual obligations (e.g., tax records under the Income Tax Act). Upon account deletion:
- Personal data will be securely erased, encrypted, or anonymized within 90 days, unless retention is required by law.
- Data shared with third parties (e.g., dealers, FASTag issuers) is not covered by this deletion process and is subject to third-party policies.
- Publicly posted content (e.g., reviews) may remain visible in archived pages or with other users, as per the Privacy Policy.
Deletion is not retroactive and does not affect data processed lawfully before the request.
Verification and Security
To ensure the security of Your account, Credence Cars verifies all deletion requests using an OTP sent to Your registered phone or email. If alternate verification is needed (e.g., due to lost access), You must provide valid KYC documents (e.g., PAN, Aadhaar) to confirm Your identity.
Credence Cars adopts reasonable security practices to protect personal data during deletion, as per the Information Technology Act, 2000, and applicable privacy laws. However, Credence Cars is not liable for intercepted data beyond our control after adopting such practices.
Legal Compliance
Account deletion requests must comply with applicable Indian laws, including the Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023, and the Information Technology Act, 2000. Credence Cars may retain certain data to meet legal obligations, such as tax or audit requirements.
Disputes arising from account deletion will be resolved through arbitration in Haryana and/or Delhi, as per the Arbitration and Conciliation Act, 1996, with a sole arbitrator appointed by Credence Cars. The arbitration language will be English, and the decision will be final and binding.
